Cité internationale


On 21 March 2017, an architectural competition for the Terra et Casa part of the Cité Internationale du Grand Morillon development was launched, with candidates participating by invitation. The plan was for 8,000 m2 of gross floor area to be devoted to housing and 1,000 m2 to shops and business premises.

The winner

Of the 10 architectural firms that took part, it was Bonnard Woeffray Architectes SA, based in Monthey (Valais), that most impressed the jury, because its project effectively addressed the architectural, functional and economic challenges presented by the development. The architects also scored highly for the environmental quality of the project and their sound understanding of the setting.

The construction of Cité Internationale Grand Morillon has started

The cantonal authorities have granted a building permit for the construction of a 88-apartment residential building. The Terra et Casa Foundation, the contracting authority, is delighted that work on this new project, which will increase its property folio to a total of 504 housing units.

Exhibition of winning architectural projects for the Cité internationale du Grand Morillon

In the presence of the Geneva city authorities, project partners, members of the jury and winner, on 26 March 2018 the Terra et Casa Foundation, in conjunction with Médecins Sans Frontières and the IHEID, inaugurated an exhibition featuring the various entries for the architectural competition organised in 2017 for a residential building of 88 apartments as part of the Cité internationale du Grand Morillon development.

Bonnard Woeffray, winner of the architectural competition for the Cité internationale du Grand Morillon

The winner has been announced of the architectural competition organised in March 2017 by the Terra et Casa Foundation for the design of an 88-apartment building, intended primarily to house employees of Geneva’s international organisations. The firm Bonnard Woeffray Architectes impressed the jury with a project that responded effectively to the client’s requirements.
