The Terra & Casa Foundation, owner of the Cité Choiseul, has launched a project to provide assistance with the renovation management of the site with the support of SIG-éco21. The aim? Involve residents from the pre-study phase to gain a better understanding of their needs and aspirations before embarking on the renovation of the buildings and outdoor spaces.
Over a period of several months, a series of workshops and surveys were held to gather tenants' opinions on three main themes:
- Parking & Mobility
- Biodiversity & Activities
- Games and outdoor facilities
With more than a third of tenants responding to the survey and a high level of participation in the workshops, this citizen consultation highlighted crucial issues and inspiring ideas for the future of the district.

When children imagine their ideal neighbourhood
To include all generations, children's workshops were organised during the summer. Armed with pencils, models and a healthy dose of imagination, they came up with suitable play areas, shared vegetable gardens and even an adventure course! It's a fun and engaging way to rethink outdoor spaces.
Residents making suggestions
The participatory workshops organised in September and October brought together dozens of tenants in a collaborative format. Highlights included
-A World Café workshop where participants worked in small groups on the major themes of the project.
-A presentation by the Nature en Ville manager, who praised the approach and offered financial support for the planting of areas.
-A collective vote to prioritise the actions to be implemented from 2025.
Concrete ideas emerged, such as the creation of a composting area, the reduction of parking spaces in favour of planted areas and increased safety around play areas.
The enthusiasm and commitment of the residents convinced the Terra & Casa Foundation to incorporate some of the proposals as early as 2025, independently of the future renovation work. It's a fine example of urban co-construction, where users become active players in their own living environment.
A huge thank you to all the participants, and especially to :
SIG-éco21, Graines d'idées, Forêt-B, Régie Plafida, the project agents (CLP & Help-Immo), and all the tenants who shared their ideas and energy!
