Work can begin on the Trembley development

The cantonal authorities have granted a building permit for the construction of a 93-apartment residential building on the corner of the Avenue Trembley and the Chemin des Crêts. The Terra et Casa Foundation, the contracting authority, is delighted that work on this new project, which will increase its property folio to a total of 416 housing units, is at last set to begin. The foundation stone is due to be laid in April 2018 and the apartments should be ready for delivery in 2020.

In 2008, the Terra et Casa Foundation acquired two plots of land totalling 5,417 m2 and, in the following year, organised an architectural competition to select the project best suited to the development envisaged for this site. However, it was only at the end of 2012 that the site was reclassified as a class-3 development area, and only in October 2017 that a building permit was granted.

When work is completed, the Foundation will be offering 37 apartments for sale in condominium ownership to people working for Geneva’s international organisations, 25 apartments under a state-controlled rental arrangement and 31 affordable-rent apartments.
