In 2009, an architectural competition was organised by the contracting authority, the Terra et Casa Foundation, to design a residential building for its site between the Avenue Trembley and the Chemin des Crêts in the Petit-Saconnex neighbourhood. The plans were for 9,200 m2 of gross floor area devoted to both luxury and affordable-rent apartments. In their entries, the participants were required to take into account the slope of the ground, tree-planting/landscaping and the proximity of the Villa Braillard.

The winner

The 3BM3 architectural firm stood out from the other six participants in the competition, as their design was perfectly in keeping with the contracting authority’s expectations and responded very positively to the issues raised by the schedule and the configuration of the site.
